Immigración es un fenómeno mundial cuyos efectos son más notorios al nivel local, vemos y oímos de la pérdida de empleos y la separación de familias, acompañadas del consequente terror de nuestr@s hermanas y hermanos indocumentados, atemorizad@s en la incertidumbre de que si el día de hoy, agentes del ICE tocarán su puerta, el terror es mayor en los niños que se preguntan sí hoy, ó mañana, ó el día siguiente, se llevarán a sus padres y herman@s que se encuentran sin documentos que garantizen su estadía legal.
L@s arrestad@s son llevados a centros de detención en donde son víctimas de ultrajes y crímenes, reciben vejaciones, descuidos y abuso sexual, en por lo menos 30 de 83 muertes desde 2003, la muerte fué a consequencia de la falta de cuidados médicos y prácticas administrativas carentes de consideración a la condición humana y a los derechos civiles y legales.
Es de notar que mientras se habla mucho de las redadas, se habla poco de lo que está pasando en los centros de detención, donde en cualquier día, es fácil contar 33,000 detenidos, entre ellos mujeres y niños, muchos de ellos ciudadanos de este pais, hay casos de familias enteras en detención.
Los immigrantes somos de todos los colores y nacionalidades que se refleja en los muertos, Yusif Osman de Ghana, La mujer transgénero Victoria Arellano de México, Arturo Suarez-Almenares de Cuba, Edmar Alves Araujo de Brazil, Young Sook Kim de Korea, Ms. Kenley de Barbados, César Gonzales-Baeza de México, de otros ni siquiera se tiene información sobre lugares de origen como Reinaldo Prado-Arencilia, Yvel Fils-Aim, Abdoulai Sall, ó Enríquez-Betancourt, del que se tiene nadamás apellidos.
Entre las muertes, 13 se citan como suicidios, 14 como resultado de enfermedades cardíacas y 9 relacionadas con V.I.H y S.I.D.A, las listas contienen otras definiciones crípticas de las causas de muertes como 'no responsivas' é 'indeterminadas', en demasiados casos estas listas no mencionan las nacionalidades ó donde vivían en los Estados Unidos. Algunos nombres y fechas de nacimiento son illegibles.
Violación sexual a una mujer transsexual Mexicana en el centro de detencion de Miami, en donde algunas mujeres reportaron que los guardias les prometían liberarlas a cambio de sexo ó deportarlas si se negaban, del centro Pearsall en Tejas, se reporta abuso sexual extenso y sistemático de parte de los guardias, en el presente hay quejas y demandas legales además de pedirse investigaciones exhaustivas sobre irregularidades, abusos y crímenes en esos campos de concentración eufemísticamente llamados centros de detención, los cuales son administrados por corporaciones contratistas privadas.
La comunidad immigrante se enfrenta a una crisis de magnitudes catastróficas en donde los esfuerzos para remediarla, topan con una gran segmento de la población que ignora, no le importa ó está de acuerdo con la política del gobierno estadounidense.
L@s que luchamos para remediar, ó por lo menos aliviar la situacion, nos encontramos poseyendo diferentes opiniones sobre como debemos actuar ó lo que es más conveniente hacer para combatir los embates, se debate de que si las marchas inflaman los sentimientos anti immigrantes ó alertan al resto de la población de las tragedias, las opiniones sobre el curso a seguir varían en todos los aspectos y aparentemente el debate llega al punto de elegir entre este ó aquel método como el más adecuado ó efectivo.
Otras dificultades se derivan de la consideración sobre la causas y efectos del fenómeno artificial que es la mobilización forzada y masiva de trabajadores y familias a nivel global, en estos puntos no hay desacuerdo de que son los resultados de acuerdos económicos llevados a cabo en un nivel de geopolítica, pero sí hay un debate sobre las esferas de juridicción ó influencia en las que actividades de medidas correctivas deberían ser aplicadas y sobre cuales de ellas deberían tener prioridad, tomando en cuenta de que la realidad desnuda es que el problema es causado tanto por los paises recipientes de immigrantes, como en los originadores, y de que hay un contubernio entre las dos entidades, que en la mayoría de los casos, si no en todos, están controladas por intereses corporatistas, siendo este el denominador común de los victimarios, y siendo los trabajadores, agricultores, pequenos empresarios y sus familias, las víctimas de estos acuerdos económicos transnacionales.
Y de esta manera, los debates continúan mientras las tragedias aumentan, las crisis se multiplican, el terror perdura y se institucionaliza de manera perniciosa, especialmente en nuestros hijos, hasta llegar a la situación en que nos encontramos, sobre la cual no hay desacuerdo de que es insostenible é intolerable, todos estamos de acuerdo de que se debe hacer algo y la preguntas comunes son, qué y como.

The terror arrives in the morning… And that is only the beginning.

Those arrested are taken to detention centers where they are victims of insults and crimes, they suffer humiliations, negligence and sexual abuse, in at least 30 of 83 deaths from 2003, the death was due to lack of medical care and administrative practices devoid of consideration to the human condition, civil and legal rights.
Important to note, that while much is spoken of the raids, very little is said of what is happening in the detention centers, where in any given day, it is easy to count 33,000 prisoners, among them women and children, many are citizens of this country, there are cases of whole families in detention.

The immigrant community faces a crisis of catastrophic magnitude where the efforts to remedy it run into a great segment of the population that ignores the reality, do not care or are in agreement with the policy of the US government.
Those of us who struggle to remedy, or at least to alleviate the situation, have different opinions on what to do to fight off the attacks or how to go about it, we debate weather our immigrant marches inflame the anti immigrant sentiments or alert the rest of the population on the tragedies, the opinions on the course to follow vary in all aspects and apparently the debate arrives to the point of choosing between this or that option as the most suitable or effective method.
Other difficulties derive from the consideration of the causes and effects of the artificial phenomenon that is the forced and massive mobilization of workers and families at a global level, on these points there is no disagreement that they are the result of economic agreements at an geopolitical level, but there is indeed a debate on the spheres of influences or jurisdiction where activities on corrective measures would have to be applied or which of them must have priority, taking into account the stark reality that the problem is caused as much by the countries receiving the immigrants as is their country of origin, since both entities are controlled by corporatist interests, they share the blame for the victims of their economic policies and transnational agreements which are the workers, farmers, small entrepreneurs and their families.
And this way, the debates continue while the tragedies increase, the crises multiply, the terror remains and it is institutionalized in a pernicious way, especially in our children, thus we arrive at the situation were we find ourselves in, where we agree that it is untenable and intolerable and that something has to be done, the only remaining questions are: What, where, and how.
