The group, Hispanic / Latino Anti-Defamation Coalition SF and allied Community Organizations, plan to rally in front of the building which houses radio station KNEW-AM where Savage transmits his nationally-syndicated program. On his program, Savage call for troops on the street "to protect us from the scourge of illegal immigrants who are running rampant across America, killing our police for sport, raping, murdering like a scythe across America while the liberal psychos are telling us they come here to work." Or that autism is a "fraud, a racket, that in 99 percent of cases is a brat who hasn't been told to cut their act out" and to stop being 'morons', he also tells fasting immigrant students "to starve to death, then we won't have a problem." These kind of statements incite people who are already angry and resentful, as when Jim David Adkisson entered the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville, opened fire with a 12-gauge shotgun, killed two people and wounded six during the presentation of a children's musical. In his car, police found a four-page letter where he expressed his hatred of the "liberal movement', and wrote he targeted the church "because of its liberal teachings" and his belief that "all liberals should be killed" because they were "ruining the country." Inside Adkisson's home, officers found "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder" by radio talk show host Michael Savage. Shock jocks insist their rants are not hurting anyone and that they are not inciting hate attacks. Meanwhile disenfranchised groups continue to be targeted. Another instance was the senseless savage beating that resulted in the death of Luis Eduardo Ramirez Zavala by a group of four young white males in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania on July 12, 2008. Luis E. Ramirez was a hard-working father of small children and a decent member of the community. His killers ranted racial comments against Mexicans while cowardly beating him; as reported by eyewitnesses. For too long the Hispanic/Latino, and other minority communities in the Bay Area have suffered Clear Channel/the Savage Nation/Michael Savage and his attacks. His insulting, degrading, sophomoric tirades are racist and divisive to a dangerous level. His rhetoric, has resulted in erroneous definitions of whom we are as Hispanic/ Latinos and he contributes to stereotypes which we have for a long time tried to defuse. Are M. Savage, B. O'Reilly and S. Hannity Guilty of Accessory to Murder?

When police searched the car of the gunman who opened fire in a Unitarian Church in Tennessee, they found a 4-page letter expressing his hatred of the "liberal movement." A regular consumer of Bill O'Reilly, Michael Savage and Sean Hannity, Jim David Adkisson was only following the arguments they make day in and day out, to their logical conclusions.

Police found right-wing political books, brass knuckles, empty shotgun shell boxes and a handgun in the Powell home of a man who said he attacked a church in order to kill liberals "who are ruining the country," court records show.

Knoxville police Sunday evening searched the Levy Drive home of Jim David Adkisson after he allegedly entered the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church and killed two people and wounded six others during the presentation of a children's musical.

Adkisson targeted the church ... "because of its liberal teachings and his belief that all liberals should be killed because they were ruining the country, and that he felt that the Democrats had tied his country's hands in the war on terror and they had ruined every institution in America with the aid of media outlets."

Adkisson [said] that "he could not get to the leaders of the liberal movement that he would then target those that had voted them in to office."

Inside the house, officers found "Liberalism is a Mental Health Disorder" by radio talk show host Michael Savage, "Let Freedom Ring" by talk show host Sean Hannity, and "The O'Reilly Factor," by television talk show host Bill O'Reilly.

Can they be charged with "Accessory to Murder"? Are they culpable?

In the strict sense of the Law, this seems to be the case, yet, I have not seen, not heard anyone raise this question specifically uttering the word "Accessory"; I have heard questions on whether or not they incited the actions of Jim D. Adkisson at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, where two were killed and six wounded.

One person posing the question is Joshua Holland, at AlterNet, who asks: "Did Right-Wing Shock Jocks Motivate Knoxville Killer?", another one is The Rev. Chris Buice, The pastor of Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, who has given a lot of thought to the subject of hate lately, the Pastor is full of curiosity, doubt .

He is curious to know whether any clues might be gleaned from the words of right-wing radio talk-show host Michael Savage and Fox News personalities Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity, whose books later were seized as evidence from Adkisson's Powell residence by police.

He is curious whether the authors prayerfully consider their words.

"The words you choose may be the difference between war and peace," Buice said. "Every diplomat knows that."

He noted that, in the run-up to the Rawandan genocide of 1994, during which hundreds of thousands of ethnic minority Tutsis and political moderates died, the country's Hutu majority-controlled radio broadcast hate-fueled propaganda encouraging listeners to exterminate the "cockroaches."

"I believe in rigorous debate," Buice said, speaking to his belief in the danger of dehumanizing language that can label and categorize one person from another. "but what's the difference between a political opponent and a cockroach? You stomp a cockroach. You debate a political opponent. I believe, if you truly listen to your opponent, it will make you better."

Who can forget how the propaganda machine of Germany's Nazi Regime demonized Jews by blaming them of all the maladies affecting the population? Dehumanizing them so as to inflame the populace's attitudes, while desensitizing them, so they would go along, or at least turn a blind eye to the unimaginable acts that were to follow, we know the horrendous results that these words had, millions were killed.

And the difference between what the Nazis did and what the Savages, the O'Reillys and the Hannitys are doing, is?

I don't think that we need to wait until millions are exterminated, do we? The fact of the matter is that people are being killed because of what they are, as was Luis Ramirez in Shennandoah PA, or because of what they believe in, as was the case in the Tennessee's Church killings.

Millions are being terrorized by what ICE's officers have become, institutionalized terrorists, who routinely break the law and who walk all over the constitutional guarantees and the human rights of people who have been demonized, and degraded, to the level of coachroaches and "Vermin", as Savage has said undocumented immigrants are.

All of this while many people turn a blind eye, at the same time that others actually cheer and urge that these practices be accelerated.

For the latter, it may be too late for redemption, as for the former, The Rev. Martin Luther King said it best:

Families are being separated, people are arrested and treated inhumanely, as was the case with Juana Villegas:

Juana Villegas gave birth to a baby on July 5. She had been arrested by Davidson County Sheriffs on the 3rd. At the hospital she was shackled until the very final stages of labor. The situation was so brutal that the labor and delivery nurses were crying. Later, when she was taken back to the jail she developed infections in both breasts because the officers at the Davidson County Jail (in Nashville) would not allow her to have a breast pump. She was separated from her newborn for 2 days. The baby developed jaundice.

Where is the outrage? This news had scant coverage, even in the Spanish Media, as far as I know, today is the first day that Univision covered it, any search turns up some blog entries lamenting or deploring this outrage, while others are actually taking the position that she had it coming, as if she deserved it for violating immigration laws, the comments are truly beyond the pale in the hate that oozes from them, these words reflect the language that the hatemongers spew through the airwaves and that are then implanted in the heads of what used to be people, but that have become zombie-like creatures, incapable of feeling their humanity when it comes to the people they have been incited, or maybe it can be rightfully said, were programmed to hate.

For years, these hatemongers, plus the countless others engaged in the profitable business of creating division, intolerance, hate and violence, have been warned by outraged people of good faith and citizens concerned at the damage to the internal security of the United States that these present day monsters, and their listeners, pose to minorities, to people who do not fit the 'accepted' norm, and to the population at large, they have been told time and time again, about the dangers that their words represent, in addition, they have been presented with concrete cases of the results and consequences of their hateful, and of their also full of hate words, hoping without hope, to appeal to the better part of themselves, appealing to their humanity.

So far, it has been an exercise in utter futility.

So now we have clear evidence of a direct connection between the hate they preach and the actions of one of their listeners.

What are they responsible for? That is why I asked the question: Are M. Savage, B. O'Reilly and S. Hannity Guitly of Accessory to Murder?

It seems that the Minuteman Founder, Jim Gilchrist, in a rightwingnut radio program, called for the United States to send troops to Mexico to fight a Drug War.(Published on columbiatribune.com Thursday, July 10, 2008)

Jim Gilchrist, founder and president of the Minutemen, believes the way to control rising drug violence in Mexico is to send crack U.S. troops.

Speaking on talk radio - where else? - he says the U.S. administration should give Mexico 12 months to clean out the cartels.

"Either terminate the criminal empires that influence your nation and threaten to cripple the United States, or risk the incursion of U.S. soldiers to do the job for you."

And Gilchrist is not talking about a bunch of MPs on weekend maneuvers. "I’m talking about heavyweight U.S. Army Airborne brigades."

This is truly a gift of a news and a real jewel which allows us a glimpse into the mind of this wacko, who calls himself Patriot, and gives room to ponder on the 'state of mind' of the people who follow him in the Minuteman Project.

The idea is so bizarre that even virulent anti-immigrant sites like ALIPAC are balking at Gilchrist's suggestion and lamenting that sickos like Gilchrist makes them look bad, IMHO, they don't need any help on this; by themselves they have managed to do a good job on it.

Not difficult to imagine the effect the propaganda of people like Gilchrist has on people who start from their nativist, racist, xenophobic leanings or outright beliefs.

The rightwingnuts in the anti-immigration media (hello Low Dobbs et al) are not picking up on this story and who can blame them? They are afraid of being associated to this certifiable nut, but they are! LOL!!!

I wonder what will they do if this 'out-there' idea gets any play in the media, I'll venture a guess that they will be backtracking and backpedaling so fast from being associated with "The Minutemen" Founder, Jim Gilchrist, that their movements would provide enough power to provide some relief for our current 'energy crisis'.

The Death of a "Criminal"

Her name was Maria Isabel Jiménez Vázquez, she was 17-year-old and pregnant and died because her employer did not give her proper access to shade and water as she pruned grape vines in 100-degree heat.

Investigators said they found multiple violations including the illegal use of child labor, multiple workers using one timecard and employees forced to purchase their own tools and equipment to harvest crops.

Inspectors visited about 50 farms Tuesday.

The death of Maria Isabel Vasquez Jimenez is now under investigation by Cal OSHA following allegations she was denied water, shade and other basic human rights while pruning grape vines in near triple-digit heat.

Hundreds of farm workers have been holding a march to the state capitol with the Jimenez family for the past few days.

United Farm Worker official Arturo Rodriguez said Jimenez's death was the 10th from heat exhaustion in the past four years.

"Maria Isabel was the youngest of the farmworkers," said Rodriguez. "She was the first woman that died as a result of this...and she was the first person who died being pregnant at the time."

Steven J. Ybarra, JD from the California Progress Report in his editorial "In Memory of Maria Isabel Jiménez Vázquez...." writes:

"Here is the question of the day - why is it that the Mexican worker is suddenly the devil incarnate in the United States?"

Many Americans today are buying the right “wingnut” lie that Mexican workers are destroying the economy. They buy off on the xenophobia put out by the wingnuts who blame the war, gas shortages, and deaths in Iraq on workers who come here to pick fruit and clean toilets at your friendly neighborhood motel.

To what extent the RightWingNut onslaught of hate and demeaning speech against immigrants contributes to the way these humans are viewed and treated?, or in this case, mistreated, yes, they are humans beings just like you and me, in spite of what these hatemongers say and despite how employers abuse and exploit these workers.

Dr. Marcos Gutierrez in his weekdays radio program "Made in California" Regularly points out, that much as in Hitler's Germany of the 1930s, with it's dehumanizing speech against the Jews, made possible the atrocities that were to follow, so it is in these United States, that the anti-immigrant sentiment sowed in the minds of people by the media hatemongers, makes it also possible to view immigrants as less than human and thus fertilize the political ground, so draconian legislative measures can be implemented and barbaric raids conducted in a brutal manner be carried out, destroying lives, separating families, incarcerating children with their mothers, and on, and on, and on... ad infinitum.

LODI, Calif. — They fell for one another in junior high school, in a village deep in Mexico's Sierra Madre range.

Maria and her friend, Florentino, had made plans: To work in this country for perhaps three years, save some money and then return to Oaxaca, get married and make a home and family there.

It wasn't long after that, that Florentino Bautista, 19, lost his pregnant fiancée when she fainted in his arms following hours of work in 100-degree heat. This week, Bautista is leading a poignant march to Sacramento to call for safer labor conditions on farms.

Two teenagers in love who traveled thousands of miles, surviving the deadly journey from the impoverished village to the fields in California in search of a better future, for them and for their families, in the case of Maria Isabel, to also help her widowed mother.

Criminals?

No, quite the contrary, Juan Hernandez makes a case that today's immigrants exhibit the traits and character which Americans admire in his book "New American Pioneers: Why Are We Afraid of Mexican Immigrants?", yes indeed, why?

Geraldo Rivera, in his book "His Panic: Why Americans Fear Hispanics in the U.S." and in his tv appearances on the subject, makes a connection between the demonizing of immigrants and the RightWingNuts in the media's antagonistic and hateful demeaning pronunciations against these workers.

No, not criminals, just workers with families to take care of.
