"Charity is commendable, everyone should be charitable. But Justice aims to create a social order in which, if individuals choose not to be charitable, people still don't go hungry, unschooled or sick without care. Charity depends on the vicissitudes of whim and personal wealth, justice depends on commitment instead of circumstance.
Faith-based charity provides crumbs from the table; faith-based justice offers a place at the table"

Respectfully, Mr. President: Thank You! -- ("Obama has not done anything?") CHECK THIS OUT!!!

There are lots and lots of Progressives(?) clamoring "Barack Obama has not done anything", No, I'm not exaggerating, that's what many, many are saying -- while some of them may be parroting Republican Operatives' 'Talking Points", some of these voices are actually Republican Operatives in our midst, including many who infiltrated or sold out in the pro-immigrant rights movement; their goal? Well,  not to difficult to figure out, isn't? Bottom line is, many gullible folk are believing them.

So, after reading "ThisIsMyTime" Post with a list of some of President Obama and Dems' accomplishments in spite of vicious attacks and blatant obstructionism, do you think these voices are telling the truth to us all?

Most of us know someone who is repeating the Right Wing lies, send them this information, ask them to read it and then ask them to repeat what they've been saying.

Millions of us worked very hard to elect President Obama and we accomplished this historic and revolutionary act, take credit for your hard work and foresight, but let's not slip into complacency, the work is far from done, there is so much that needs to be corrected/changed, let's continue with our pledge to work for change, to pressure our Representatives to act, after all, this is the bargain we entered with then Candidate Barack Obama, just to be clear, this is what we agreed on "That we were going to help/make him do it", for,

"WE ARE THE ONES WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR" And,

That "YES, WE CAN - SI SE PUEDE"

As the battle for control of Congress has tightened and the so called enthusiasm gap is evaporating, we must continue speaking to voter about what Democrats in Congress have accomplished.

If you are a democrat and you have an enthusiasm gap, I am hoping that this could change your lack of enthusiasm.

The facts are in the last 23 months, the following are things that I think are worth keeping scores about what President Obama and the Democratic congress have accomplished that get over looked without an ounce of credit by some who are always disappointed about something.

More below the fold...

Are M. Savage, B. O'Reilly and S. Hannity Guilty of Accessory to Murder?

Accessory
  • Law.
    1. One who incites, aids, or abets a lawbreaker in the commission of a crime but is not present at the time of the crime. Also called accessory before the fact.
When police searched the car of the gunman who opened fire in a Unitarian Church in Tennessee, they found a 4-page letter expressing his hatred of the "liberal movement." A regular consumer of Bill O'Reilly, Michael Savage and Sean Hannity, Jim David Adkisson was only following the arguments they make day in and day out, to their logical conclusions.
From the Knoxville News Sentinel:
Police found right-wing political books, brass knuckles, empty shotgun shell boxes and a handgun in the Powell home of a man who said he attacked a church in order to kill liberals "who are ruining the country," court records show.
Knoxville police Sunday evening searched the Levy Drive home of Jim David Adkisson after he allegedly entered the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church and killed two people and wounded six others during the presentation of a children's musical.
Adkisson targeted the church ... "because of its liberal teachings and his belief that all liberals should be killed because they were ruining the country, and that he felt that the Democrats had tied his country's hands in the war on terror and they had ruined every institution in America with the aid of media outlets."
Adkisson [said] that "he could not get to the leaders of the liberal movement that he would then target those that had voted them in to office."
Inside the house, officers found "Liberalism is a Mental Health Disorder" by radio talk show host Michael Savage, "Let Freedom Ring" by talk show host Sean Hannity, and "The O'Reilly Factor," by television talk show host Bill O'Reilly.
Can they be charged with "Accessory to Murder"? Are they culpable?

In the strict sense of the Law, this seems to be the case, yet, I have not seen, not heard anyone raise this question specifically uttering the word "Accessory"; I have heard questions on whether or not they incited the actions of Jim D. Adkisson at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, where two were killed and six wounded.

One person posing the question is Joshua Holland, at AlterNet, who asks: "Did Right-Wing Shock Jocks Motivate Knoxville Killer?", another one is The Rev. Chris Buice, The pastor of Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, who has given a lot of thought to the subject of hate lately, the Pastor is full of curiosity, doubt .

He is curious to know whether any clues might be gleaned from the words of right-wing radio talk-show host Michael Savage and Fox News personalities Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity, whose books later were seized as evidence from Adkisson's Powell residence by police.

He is curious whether the authors prayerfully consider their words.

"The words you choose may be the difference between war and peace," Buice said. "Every diplomat knows that."

He noted that, in the run-up to the Rawandan genocide of 1994, during which hundreds of thousands of ethnic minority Tutsis and political moderates died, the country's Hutu majority-controlled radio broadcast hate-fueled propaganda encouraging listeners to exterminate the "cockroaches."

"I believe in rigorous debate," Buice said, speaking to his belief in the danger of dehumanizing language that can label and categorize one person from another. "but what's the difference between a political opponent and a cockroach? You stomp a cockroach. You debate a political opponent. I believe, if you truly listen to your opponent, it will make you better."

Who can forget how the propaganda machine of Germany's Nazi Regime demonized Jews by blaming them of all the maladies affecting the population? Dehumanizing them so as to inflame the populace's attitudes, while desensitizing them, so they would go along, or at least turn a blind eye to the unimaginable acts that were to follow, we know the horrendous results that these words had, millions were killed.

And the difference between what the Nazis did and what the Savages, the O'Reillys and the Hannitys are doing, is?

I don't think that we need to wait until millions are exterminated, do we? The fact of the matter is that people are being killed because of what they are, as was Luis Ramirez in Shennandoah PA, or because of what they believe in, as was the case in the Tennessee's Church killings.

Millions are being terrorized by what ICE's officers have become, institutionalized terrorists, who routinely break the law and who walk all over the constitutional guarantees and the human rights of people who have been demonized, and degraded, to the level of coachroaches and "Vermin", as Savage has said undocumented immigrants are.

All of this while many people turn a blind eye, at the same time that others actually cheer and urge that these practices be accelerated.

For the latter, it may be too late for redemption, as for the former, The Rev. Martin Luther King said it best:
History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Families are being separated, people are arrested and treated inhumanely, as was the case with Juana Villegas:
Juana Villegas gave birth to a baby on July 5. She had been arrested by Davidson County Sheriffs on the 3rd. At the hospital she was shackled until the very final stages of labor. The situation was so brutal that the labor and delivery nurses were crying. Later, when she was taken back to the jail she developed infections in both breasts because the officers at the Davidson County Jail (in Nashville) would not allow her to have a breast pump. She was separated from her newborn for 2 days. The baby developed jaundice.

One Last Thing about Juana Villegas DeLaPaz

Where is the outrage? This news had scant coverage, even in the Spanish Media, as far as I know, today is the first day that Univision covered it, any search turns up some blog entries lamenting or deploring this outrage, while others are actually taking the position that she had it coming, as if she deserved it for violating immigration laws, the comments are truly beyond the pale in the hate that oozes from them, these words reflect the language that the hatemongers spew through the airwaves and that are then implanted in the heads of what used to be people, but that have become zombie-like creatures, incapable of feeling their humanity when it comes to the people they have been incited, or maybe it can be rightfully said, were programmed to hate.

For years, these hatemongers, plus the countless others engaged in the profitable business of creating division, intolerance, hate and violence, have been warned by outraged people of good faith and citizens concerned at the damage to the internal security of the United States that these present day monsters, and their listeners, pose to minorities, to people who do not fit the 'accepted' norm, and to the population at large, they have been told time and time again, about the dangers that their words represent, in addition, they have been presented with concrete cases of the results and consequences of their hateful, and of their also full of hate words, hoping without hope, to appeal to the better part of themselves, appealing to their humanity.

So far, it has been an exercise in utter futility.

So now we have clear evidence of a direct connection between the hate they preach and the actions of one of their listeners.

What are they responsible for? That is why I asked the question: Are M. Savage, B. O'Reilly and S. Hannity Guitly of Accessory to Murder?

The "Leftist Media" And the NCMR June 6 - 8, 2008

What am I missing that I can't understand why the "Liberal/Leftist MSM" it is not covering the "National Conference for Media Reform" Being held in Minneapolis June 6 - 8, 2008?
Some videos from conference

I have not seen this conference extensively covered, have you? The contradictions of the "Liberal/Leftist MSM" Myth just jump at you and yet, it is alive and kicking.

How more Liberal can an issue be, according to the conservatives(?), than a conference to reform what it is considered in reality a Corporatist (Fascist) MSM? If I were less informed, I'd really be puzzled at how the "Liberal/Leftist" MSM has continuously given a pass to conservative figures or their misdeeds, lies and disinformation, who can forget how "Liberal" Journalists and Democratic figures were savagely hammered and their righ wing counterparts were not?

If I knew that the Bush Administration's claims on Iraq's WMDs were fabricated by the "Office of Special Operations" Under former Secretary of Defense for Policy Douglas Feith, how come the MSM characters did not?

Opposition to an invasion of Iraq is as leftist as one can get, according to the rightwingnuts, how come the "Liberal/Leftist" MSM did not expose the lies of the ultra conservative Neocons?

Entries in the bastion of RightWingNut dribble, WorldNetDaily have been pointed to and quoted by AIM, about a Jan. 2007 report and an article, among other items, by Cliff Kincaid about last year's NCMR: "The Communist-influenced Media Reform Movement" and The Plan To Silence Conservatives"
The Kincaid column is a follow-up to his exclusive report on the "National Conference on Media Reform," held in Memphis, Tennessee. The column, "The Communist-influenced 'Media Reform' Movement," and his January 15 special report, "The Plan to Silence Conservatives," are available at www.aim.org.

The "media reform" movement wants Congress to resurrect the so-called "fairness doctrine" so that it can force conservative media to incorporate "progressive" views into shows like the O'Reilly Factor on cable news and the Rush Limbaugh program on radio. "Having previously reported on the participation of Revolutionary Communist Party members at the 'National Conference on Media Reform,'" Kincaid says, "I can now confirm that members of the old Soviet-line Communist Party USA were there, too."
Forbes picked the AP NCMR 2008 report and the entry actually agrees with "Liberal?Leftists", the MSM is Corporatist and that "The National Conference for Media Reform is being organized by Free Press, a nonprofit organization that promotes diverse and independent media ownership and public media."
MINNEAPOLIS - Critics of the corporate media are gathering in Minneapolis this weekend to discuss reform.
Associated Press 06.06.08, 2:02 PM ET ,

The conference opened Friday with several speakers, including Democratic U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison of Minneapolis.

A few big names will participate in the conference, including former CBS (nyse: CBS - news - people ) newsman Dan Rather, Bill Moyers of PBS and Arianna Huffington of HuffingtonPost.com.
What a lineup of "Liberals", and "Liberal" issues, how come the "Liberal MSM" Is not extensively reporting it? CNNMoney.com also picked up the story (Other of the few outlets which covered it)
Corporate reform top issue at media conference

Critics of corporate media gather in Minneapolis to discuss reform

June 06, 2008: 05:27 PM EST

NEW YORK (Associated Press) - Protecting Internet news sources from being controlled by a small number of powerful corporations is one of the "most profound fights of our lives," the head of a media reform group said Friday. "We can organize truth against power. We can use the Internet to save the Internet," said Josh Silver, co-founder and executive director of the nonprofit group Free Press.

Silver made the remarks as journalists and activists gathered here for the National Conference for Media Reform. The conference this weekend is meant to encourage efforts for a more diverse and open media.
We witnessed how the "Liberal/Leftist MSM" Have magnified issues negative to "Liberal" Barack Obama and has not done the same for conservative John McCain?

Anyway, the NCMR 2008 took place and the Natinal Media Reform Movement is getting stronger
