El pasado 17 de mayo dio inicio un nuevo programa radial llamado "Unidad Hispana", con el fin de examinar el débil nivel de unidad en nuestra comunidad, las instituciones y especialmente, en el movimiento por los derechos de los migrantes.
Puede ser sintonizado los Sabados de 1:00 a 1:30 pm en Hecho en California, La Grande 1010AM y por la internet.

El pasado 17 de mayo dio inicio un nuevo programa radial llamado "Unidad Hispana", con el fin de examinar el débil nivel de unidad en nuestra comunidad, las instituciones y especialmente, en el movimiento por los derechos de los migrantes.

El objetivo primordial es motivar a la acción a los individuos y a las fuerzas progresistas y humanitarias comprometidas con esta causa y movimiento para crear los mecanismos de unidad y alianzas que fortalecerían la estrategia y plan de acción regional y así, también incidir en el movimiento a nivel nacional.

Esta necesidad es imperante dado que en el 2009 se presentará nuevamente la oportunidad legislativa de una reforma inmigratoria integral en el Congreso de los Estados Unidos, con una mayor unidad, podemos dar una lucha con mas fuerza para que tal reforma sea lo más beneficiosa posible.
El programa "Unidad Hispana" necesita de su colaboración para sostenerse en el aire como programa no-comercial. Por hoy pagamos $300 por 25 minutos y nuestro objetivo es aumentarlo a una hora para lo cual necesitaremos $550.

Como organización le solicitamos una colaboración de $100 mensuales. Su organización será mencionada en el programa como patrocinadora y se dará el nombre, su misión y número telefónico. Y a los individuos que apoyan este llamado les solicitamos una colaboración de $25. Los negocios pueden patrocinarse colaborando con $50 para una mención de hasta 30 segundos.

El programa es dinámico, educativo e interactivo. En su formato incluirá temas candentes y provocadores como: ¿Qué es la unidad? y qué significa la afirmación: "¡la unión hace la fuerza!"; lo último en el tema de inmigración; noticias de América Latina; entrevistas con los representantes comunitarios; línea abierta a la audiencia; y reporte de las actividades del movimiento y las acciones y reuniones planeadas en el área de la Bahía.

Some are more equal than Others.

To follow the Rule of the Law - “The Other”

In the darkness at night or at the break of daylight, terrorists with federal police badges, issued by the office of ICE, arrest undocumented immigrants inflicting terror in their relatives, especially to the children living in those houses, separating them from their parents and close relatives, some of which actually are American Citizens and among them are many who have been deported without concern to the violation of their constitutional and human rights.

Raids and Deportations are the punishment to “Violations” of the laws (?) of Immigration, or at least that is what the individuals say that, in great part, are guided by xenophobia and racism, they attack the Immigrants accusing us of being criminals, carriers of diseases like leprosy and tuberculosis, members of gangs, etc., and for these reasons, deserving of the consequences as it is the separation of families, the destruction of the labor of 5, 10, 15, 20 years in the so called `land of opportunity' where not even ours children have the same educational opportunities that other young people/have, with the consequent waste of their minds, and therefore, of a better individual and community future.

To follow the Rule of the Law - “The Some”

As the latest example of the historical hypocrisy of the governing class of the United States of America and the also inherently hypocritical corruption of the administration of President G.W. Bush, who shamelessly commuted a section of the sentence to jail for Lewis “Scooter” Libby, proclaiming respect for the citizen's jury:

”Respect for the jury's verdict” Bush said in a declaration. ” But I have concluded that the prison sentence given to Mr. Libby is excessive. Therefore, I am exchanging the portion of the sentence of Mr. Libby which would require him to spend thirty months in prison.”

Excessive? To lie under oath to a Grand Jury in a case of leaking the clandestine identity of an agent of the CIA who was investigating the proliferation of arms of mass destruction (Nuclear), “Scooter” Libby committed perjury in order to conceal his participation and that of other members of the Administration in the crime committed against the Agent Valerie Plame, who was under the category of NOC (Not Official Cover (Without Official Protection)) Putting in danger her life, that of her family and the network of contacts accumulated in the years she worked under that identity.

“Scooter” Achieved his objective, he could not be condemned for his participation in the leak of the clandestine identity of Mrs Plame, but it could not avoid to be found guilty of perjury in a maneuver, that in the words of the Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, “Is equivalent to the comparison of a Baseball Umpire to whom the player throws dirt in his face to cover his vision of the play" , Scooter being the player and the Public Prosecutor, Fitzgerald, the Umpire in the analogy.

And the play? Well, according to the speech of Ex-President George H.W. Bush, father of the present President who said:

” I have nothing but contempt and anger for the ones who betray the trust by exposing the name of our sources. They are, in my opinion, the most insidious of traitors.” - George H.W. Bush, 1999-04-26, in the dedication ceremony for the George Bush Center for Intelligence.

But according to his son, G.W. Bush, 30 months of jail is a “excessive punishment” for the following charges:

There were five charges. Two charges were for the crime of lying to the FBI; two charges for lying to the Grand Jury, charges of perjury; and another charge, the most serious of all, was the obstruction of justice.

The jury found Mr. Libby guilty in all of the charges except in one. Where they found him innocent was the one in which the jury had struggled with the point for the last five days, many back and forth questions. It was the charge that claimed that Mr. Libby had lied to the FBI on the conversations that he had, about Valerie Plame the agent of the CIA who was at the center of this investigation of the leak, with Matt Cooper of Time Magazine.

Why is it that President G.W. Bush does not have the sense of Justice to discern that the raids, deportations, separation of families and many other manifestations of this war against the immigrants, are brutally excessive as punishment for crossing the border and to work without legal documents, which are not crimes, as the enemies of the immigrants paint it, but that in fact have been administrative violations?

Why doesn't he declare a stop to the raids and deportations? Lack of sense of Justice? Perhaps, or... maybe is nothing less than lack of testicular fortitude? Is it hypocrisy? After all, he demonstrated his hypocritical cowardice by not going to Vietnam while proclaiming his support for this invasion and declaring it as Just.

Seguir la Regla de La Ley - “Los Otros”

En la obscuridad de la noche ó al romper el día, terroristas con placas de policía federal, ejercidas por la oficina de ICE, arrestan a immigrantes indocumentados inflingiendo terror en sus familiares, especialmente a los niños pertenecientes a esas viviendas, separándolos de sus padres y familia allegada, algunos de los cuales son actualmente ciudadanos estadounidences y entre ellos se encuentran muchos que hasta han sido deportados sin importar la violación a sus derechos constitucionales y humanos.

Redadas y Deportaciones son el castigo a “Violaciones” de las leyes(?) de Immigración, o al menos es lo que dicen los individuos que, en gran porcentage, son guiados por xenofobia y racismo, atacan a los Immigrantes acusándonos de criminales, malvivientes, portadores de enfermedades como la lepra y tuberculosis, miembros de pandillas, etc., etc. y por estos motivos, merecedores de las consequencias como es la separación de familias, la destruccion de la labor de 5, 10, 15, 20 anos en la llamada ‘tierra de la oportunidad’ en la que ni siquiera nuestros hij@s tienen las mismas oportunidades educacionales que otros jóvenes/niños tienen, con el consequente desperdicio de sus mentes, y por ende, de un mejor futuro individual y comunitario.

Seguir la Regla de La Ley - “Los Unos”

Como el último ejemplo de la hipocrecía histórica de la clase gobernante de Los Estados Unidos de América y la corrupción inherentemente hipócrita de la administración del Presidente G.W. Bush, quien tuvo la desverguenza de commutar la sección de la sentencia de cárcel para Lewis “Scooter” Libby, proclamando respeto por el jurado ciudadano:

” Respeto el veredicto del jurado, ” Bush dijo en una declaración. ” Pero he concluido que la pena de prisión dada al Sr. Libby es excesiva. Por lo tanto, estoy conmutando la porción de la sentencia del Sr. Libby que lo requiria pasar treinta meses en prision.”

Excesiva? Mentir bajo juramento a un Gran Jurado en un caso de divulgamiento de la identidad clandestina de un agente de la CIA que estaba investigando la proliferación de armas de destrucción masiva (Nucleares), “Scooter” Libby cometió perjurio para encubrir su participación y la de otros miembros de la Administración en el crimen cometido contra la Agente Valerie Plame quien estaba bajo la categoría de NOC (Not Official Cover (Sin Protección Oficial)) Poniendo en peligro su vida, la de su familia y la red de contactos que había acumulado en los años que trabajó bajo esa identidad.

“Scooter” Logró su objetivo, no se le pudo condenar por su participación en el divulgamiento de la identidad clandestina de la Sra. Plame, pero no pudo evitar ser encontrado culpable de perjurio en una maniobra, que en las palabras del Fiscal Especial Patrick Fitzgerald, “Es equivalente a la comparación de un Umpire de Base-Ball al cual el jugador le tira tierra en la cara para cubrirle la visión de la jugada", Scooter siendo el jugador y el Fiscal Fitzgeral el Umpire en la analogía.

Y la jugada? Bueno, de acuerdo con el discurso del Ex-Presidente George H.W. Bush, padre del presente Presidente que dijo:

” No tengo nada sino desprecio y cólera para los que traicionen la confianza exponiendo el nombre de nuestras fuentes. Son, en mi opinión, los más insidiosos, de los traidores.” - George H.W. Bush, 1999-04-26, ceremonia de la dedicacion del centro de George Bush para la inteligencia.

Pero de acuerdo con su hijo, G.W. Bush, 30 meses de cárcel es un “castigo excesivo” por los siguientes cargos:

Había cinco cargos. Dos cargos eran del crimen de mentir al FBI; dos cargos de mentir al gran jurado, cargos de perjurio; y otro cargo, el más serio de todos, que era obstrucción a la justicia.

El jurado encontró al Sr. Libby culpable en todos menos en uno de esos cargos. En el que lo encontraron inocente era uno en que el jurado había luchado con el punto por los ultimos cinco días, muchas preguntas hacia adelante y hacia atrás. Era el cargo que sugería que Sr. Libby había mentido al FBI sobre conversaciones que él tuvo sobre Valerie Plame, el oficial de la CIA, que está en el centro de esta investigacion de divulgamiento, las conversaciones que él tuvo con Matt Cooper, de Time Magazine, sobre ella.

Porqué es que el Presidente G.W. Bush no tiene el sentido de Justicia para discernir que las redadas, deportaciones, separación de familias y muchas otras manifestaciones de esta guerra contra los inmigrantes, son brutalmente excesivas como castigo por cruzar la frontera y trabajar sin documentos legales que no son crímenes como los enemigos de los inmigrantes lo pintan, sino que en realidad han sido faltas administrativas?

Porqué no declara un alto a las redadas y deportaciones? Falta del sentido de Justicia? Ó, tal vez nada más es falta de fortitud testicular? Es hipocrecía? Despues de todo, demonstró su cobardía hipócrita al no ir a Vietnam mientras que proclamaba su apoyo a esa invasión y la declaraba como justa.
